Soliton Self-Compression and UV Dispersive Wave Emission in Compact Hollow Capillary Systems

Abstract

We demonstrate that by using short (5-7 fs) driving pulses, optical soliton dynamics can be obtained in hollow capillary fibres less than 35 cm in length, generating μJ-level ultrafast UV pulses with high efficiency.
