Beamline for Extreme Soliton Dynamics for the generation of Terawatt-Scale Optical Attosecond pulses and several tens of Gigawatt Sub-3 femtosecond Deep Ultraviolet pulses

Abstract

We present the beamline of extreme soliton dynamics (XSOL), a compact gas-filled hollow-core fibre light source generating linearly polarised single-cycle field transients with terawatt-scale peak power, several hundred gigawatt radially polarised few-cycle pulses and tens of gigawatt few-femtosecond ultraviolet pulses, tunable from the deep ultraviolet to the vacuum ultraviolet. The single-cycle pulses can confine processes requiring relativistic intensities on the attosecond time scale.
