Extremely short pulses from the vacuum ultraviolet to infrared driven by soliton dynamics

Abstract

We demonstrate that soliton dynamics in gas-filled hollow capillary fibres generate tuneable few-cycle to attosecond pulses spanning the vacuum ultraviolet to infrared, with terawatt-scale peak powers, in both linear and radial polarisation states.
